Nike Dunk Low SB ‘Safari’

Posted on 03 Jul 2010 at 3:57pm

We all like our Safari prints. When it came in the form of an Air Max, everyone went crazy. Not to mention, the Safari Court Force as well as the Safari Dunk Low. But Nike SB, even with its many collabs, special colorways and inspirations from comic characters, somehow never took on the print for any shoe in its line.

Coming up for Fall tho is just what we all need. A Safari Dunk SB. And the fat tongue to boot! The print shows up on the toe box, side panel as well as the ankle collar. To contrast the royal blue, the swoosh is lined with white.

While no other further details have been confirmed just yet, you can be sure this will be one of the better SBs to look out for.

Nike Dunk High SB ‘Born in the USA’

Posted on 03 Jul 2010 at 3:41pm

Independence Day for the citizens of the United States of America is fast approaching and looking at how things are cooking up on the collaborations  or commemorations front, it is without a doubt that Nike would come up with something for this special day.

But regardless of the numerous collabs and special projects the brand’s been doing, this one seems to be one of the better ones. Taking inspiration from Bruce Springsteen’s classic album Born In The USA, this pair dons an all-American getup with blue denim, red swoosh and white laces. The famous stars and stripes complete the look on the tongue.

Look out for these to drop any moment now.

Vans OTW|a closer look

Fans of the waffle sole should by now have heard about the OTW collection that screams style and exudes characteristics that reflects the emergent youth culture inspired by action sports and music etc.

Just last week, Vans celebrated the highly anticipated collection on the rooftop of the infamous Haas building at Downtown Los Angeles that was graced by celebs and the like, no less.

OTW is a collection that’s not about performance. It’s about individuality and the culture which surrounds the people who wear Vans. In todays cut and paste design age, style and creativity have somehow been swept under the rugs. Careful thought was brought into the development of each individual model while making sure to still stay true to its roots, that is the waffle sole, which the brand has been doing for 40 over years. The collection sees the use of highend leather and suede on top of clean cut silhouettes.

Let’s now take a look  at the Alomar, Larkin and Frazier.

The Multicolor Lunar Chukka might probably have sold out while you’re reading this as it’s a Sophnet only release but what you might not know is that a similar one will hit retail floors soon, though not entirely similar. But good news nonetheless.

Slated to drop only at Tier 0 doors the hybrid model, consisting of a Nike Chukka upper with a Lunar Foam sole, will feature everything the exclusive predecessor had except for the black on the lace stays, tongue and heel strip.

Limited Edt Vault at 313 Somerset will put this up on shelves soon tho a date has not been confirmed.

Nike ‘Fragment’ All Court Low - Tier 0 and Quickstrike editions

Posted on 28 Mar 2010 at 8:40pm

He’s rubbed shoulders with Nike almost every single year for the past half a decade and sometimes bringing to life models that have been in Nike archives for so long, it was never known to have existed to the newer generation of sneaker addicts. This holds true of the All Court that was first designed some 30 years ago. fragment design’s Hiroshi Fujiwara took this model and revamped it in his own simplistic style last year. One year later, he comes back again but this time shies away from his signature black/white color scheme. Instead, he takes on bolder and brighter colors for Spring/Summer 2010.

On the cards are 4 colors, 2 of which are a Tier 0 release and the remaining 2, Quicskstrike. All sport a canvas body with the Tier 0 pairs of navy and red sitting on a plain mid sole while the Quickstrike pairs in green and mustard yellow sit on a textured mid sole. However, only the Tier 0 pairs will don the ‘broken egg’ logo on the insoles.

These will release at Tier 0 doors and Quickstrike accounts including Limited Edt, 313@Somerset, Singapore.

Nike Air Feather Hi

Singapore missed this one when the model first launched, so now that we’re finally gonna get to see this on shelves here is making us, dancers especially, kinda excited.  Taking after the Air Force 1, the Air Feather Hi is the ladies version only way lighter, much narrower and a little higher.  Previous colors saw fire red, black and neon green splashed across the entire shoe. This time, Nike has decided to strip all color and come clean. The patent stays tho.

A release is set for April so keep a lookout at your local Nike stores or retailers. (Holiday 2010 will see a much more rugged version to the Air Feather Hi. Look out for it! I sure am!)

It’s always heartwarming to see a kid wearing sneakers. The smaller the cuter. But that feeling comes up to be something a little more than heartwarming when you see a kid in Baby Space Jams. Especially when the kid’s so adorable to boot!

Enjoy the pics. And have a smashin’ weekend!

Nike Dunk Low SB - a sneak peak

Posted on 27 Mar 2010 at 5:15pm

While the ‘Skunk’ SB is still hot on everyone’s heads, here’s a look at another SB that has no aim of stealing the limelight from the aforementioned pair. Still unknown is the story behind this one but it doesn’t have a stash pocket, if that’s what you’re asking. Sporting a green/black/mustard colorway, it features a textured fabric on the mustard parts of the shoe namely the swoosh and the back.Suede appears on the green areas and black on the toe box and the perforated side panels.

It seems this might be a Quickstrike release that will drop sometime in April.  But stick around for more news in time to come!

Nike Dunk High SB Skunk

Posted on 23 Mar 2010 at 7:34pm

Nike has its way with interesting collabs that take on some funky-ass colors and/or fabrications that with just one look instantly spells D O P E. Here is one such example. Instead of working with different color blocking, they use different shades of one color. Who would’ve thought an all green dunk high could look so cool (save for the purple stitching, swoosh and outsole)! But don’t mistake this to be an inspiration of the Incredible Hulk. As confirmed by the insole, it is in actual fact the Skunk.

And just as it’s starting to grow on you, here’s a secret that you can put to good use for when you need to hide your erm…..stash? c*nd*m? keys? coins? Sewn pretty inconspicuously if you dont know it, is a pocket right on the underside of the tongue. With just a wee bit of practise, you’d soon be able to master the technique of hide and seek on the pretense of tying your laces. (Don’t tell the cops or mom and pops I told you this!)
