Denims are no longer are limited to your thighs, ladies and gents, as the iconic jeans material has since found its way to your feet as well! Traditionally, most denim sneakers have attained cult status for the obvious fact that the denim looks pretty great on a pair of kicks (remember them Reese Forbe Denim SBs? sick!).

Well, local Singaporean shoe customizer LAZY did not let this fact escape him. For those in the know, LAZY is the go-to man if ya wanna get your denim custom kick high. We’ve seen him do a pair for DJ Clarke Kent and those were sick as the H1N1 virus, and made us all mad jealous. However, I am here to showcase LAZY’s signature workmanship on 2 more recent works of his.

First up is a pair of Dunk His that he dubs the RIPPER III.

Sporting a ‘Gucci’ selvage denim on the main paneling and a faux croc skin swoosh, it has all the makings of a classic. I definitely see this is as comparable to, if not hotter than, the DJ Clarke Kent’s exclusive one.

This, however, is only a sample size 10.5 with no news yet of whether a limited release will be made by LAZY. I know many will hope these will be put into production, I mean talk about a real hot pair of kicks!

Next up, a pair that only few have seen and well, even fewer know about. These untitled AF1s were commissioned by a sneakerhead only known as “Deepie” in the local sneaker scene and yes ladies and gents, these are 1 of 1s.

I could not resist upping the jealousy most of us have of the fortunate few who are blessed to have obtained 1 of 1 exclusives. But hey, if there were like a million Mona Lisas in the world, she wouldn’t be that special anymore eh?

You may have noticed the uncanny resemblance in both featured customs. I believe these AF1s were the basis of the above mentioned Dunk Hi Design. This custom is adorned with the same ‘Gucci’ selvage denim as well as the same faux croc skin swoosh. But these were given the all out Gucci treatment with a pair of Gucci colourway laces courtesy of Starks.

The workmanship in both shoes is all we have come to expect from LAZY and the tell tale denim work is signature LAZY at his best. I’m pretty sure this ain’t the last black denim customs to come from him so let us all keep a lookout for more LAZY customs, and folks, get ready to be in awe as you just have.
