Last month we showed you glimpses of Reebok’s upcoming Affli’art collection, featuring 3 amazing designers all of whom contributed in ways that marries fashion and art. Affili’art is a program aimed at creating ‘a one-of-a-kind collection ‘that celebrates creativity, authenticity and individuality’.
From this July, Singapore will boast 4 styles from this unique Affili’art collection, with the first from Jean-Michel Basquiat, or simply Reebok x Basquiat. Just like the artist himself, his collection exudes character and originality. Each shoe in this collection projects Basquiat’s style in the form of heavy detailing such as enlarged stitching, premium leathers, satin linings and his signature crown sewn across the tongue which in turn acts as a custom eyelet.
Jean-Michel Basquiat’s first collection will be a tribute to his signature black, white and natural artworks.

Freestyle Hi Pegasus (womens)
Basquiat utilised every surface of the Freestyle and incorporated his painting on even the laces and leather-wrapped midsole.

Freestyle Hi Beat Bop (womens)
Very often, he liked to destruct an object and turn it into something new. This can be said true of the Beat Bop. Taking the same painting used in the Pegasus, he scratched it away with laser etching and now we get something which the Invert tool in Photoshop does.

Ex-O-Fit Plus Hi (mens)
This one’s called Untitled (Crown). The entire shoe is decorated very simply, using his iconic ‘crown’. Bold black lines are printed over nubuck.

Classic Leather Lux Sugar Ray Robinson
To complete the collection, the Classic Leather Lux Sugar Ray Robinson pays tribute to Basquait’s bold messages and use of strong color via tonal printing and positioning of messages. This is evident in the 3D words printed across the panels and water dipped into the midsoles.
Expect these to drop mid-July exclusively at Limited Edt, Queensway. Only 24 pairs of each style will be available.
Limited Edt is located at Queensway Shopping Centre #01-21 Singapore 149053 Tel: 6476 3835
